There are lots of different types of friends. There are lifelong friends and new friends, close friends and far away friends.

But then there are the friends with whom you find yourself sitting all together on a random porch, long after the party has ended, laughing in the freezing cold until your toes go numb, discussing barnacles and tv shows and everything else. These friends who have seen you at your absolute worst and who you are confident will be there til the very end. They are the friends who know your soul.

Those are the friends that you are truly lucky to have in your life. Those are the friends you treasure.
