community

This year, and even more specifically this month, the meaning of family and community has become so very clear to me.

I have been able to see people gather in times of celebration and in times of crisis, for joyful holidays and for tearful days of mourning, with relatives and with classmates and with friends. Family is not dictated by bloodlines, but rather through the sharing of love and of life.

I now understand the true meaning of community and how that looks in my life, and I am so eternally grateful for those people who make up my world.
